After I sold my 72 Chevelle last spring, I started on the hunt for something a little different to drive for a while. About the end of august, a friend of mine from the state of Michigan, posted his 69 Camaro for sale on a web site that I frequent and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the pictures! I wondered if the car was truly as good as it seemed, or just another hallucination created by excellent pictures?? I called Russ up and he was kind enough to send me a bunch more pictures that peaked my interest enough to go to the next step! We discussed my getting to Michigan to look at and possibly purchase the car.
When I arrived at Russ's house, I knew from the moment that I saw the car, that it was going home with me but common sense prevailed and I carefully inspected the entire car before making the commitment! I got the entire story on the rebuild from Russ and I can't say enough about the ability of this man when it comes to an automobile! I can only say that Russ is truly a master craftsman and I'm very proud to own one of his creations! This was very hard for Russ to sell because you can see from the craftsmanship, that he put his heart and soul into the car and truly cared about what he was creating! When asked how he could even let it go, he pointed to the hot rod that he currently has under construction and simply said that he needed the room and the funds to do what he had planned for the next creation and the Camaro got the nod for sale!
Russ completely rebuilt this car from the ground up and the workmanship is outstanding! He was a real stickler for detail and it really shows when you start examining this car! Here is a list of the stuff that Russ put into it!
