M-16: 1930's Mobile Oil Sign with Gargoyle Symbol

     This is a very old Mobil Oil sign that dates back to the 30's and was used by the Vacuum Oil Company, to advertise their line of Mobiloil products at the time! This was very early in the history of Mobil Oil and they were still using the "GARGOYLE" as the company symbol at that time!

     This sign measures 30 inches wide by 17 inches tall and would have actually been on the end of an oil bottle display rack that would have been used to display the oil products for sale at that time! I've added a picture to show the sign as it would have been used and the other picture is of the actual sign. This sign was being used to block a bin hole in an old grain elevator in Niagara, North Dakota! It would never have been discovered until the elevator was being torn down and the sign was discovered. This is a very hard sign to find in any condition and will make a very nice addition to someones Gas & Oil collection.
