M-8: Antique Standard Oil Bottles
These oil bottles come from a time when oil was dispensed to the public from large bulk containers and these bottles were a convenient way of dispensing a measured quart! These particular bottles were manufactured for the Standard Oil Company of Indiana and have very defined embossed letters and figures on the bottle for identification! They were also used as a method of advertisement as each oil company, often used a bottle or spout with their name on it! The Standard Oil bottles are some of the most collectible because of the unique and interesting design! Very nice display piece!
